Architecture

Engineered natively for Mac

Focused on speed, privacy integrity, and seamless everyday workflow.

01

Camera-Free Privacy

Your Mac camera stays completely off. Blur reads headphone attitude data via Core Motion, keeping your workspace private without green camera indicator lights.

02

Stealth Mode (Pro)

When looking away, active windows hide behind the shield to reveal a clean desktop. Everything stays intact in memory. Restore all windows instantly with ⌥⌘R.

03

One-Keystroke Recenter

Adjusted your posture or shifted your laptop? Face the screen and tap ⌥⌘C from any app. Forward gaze recalibrates in milliseconds.

04

AirPods & Beats Ecosystem

Compatible with AirPods 3, 4, Pro (all gens), Max, and Beats Studio Pro, Beats Fit Pro, and Beats Solo 4. Wearing just one earbud is fully supported.

05

Multi-Display Support

Whether using dual Studio Displays or an ultra-wide monitor, Blur covers all screens simultaneously across macOS Spaces and Stage Manager.

06

Zero Battery Guilt

Native Swift code with low-power 15Hz motion processing and asymmetric debounce. No fan spin, no thermal penalty, and zero idle battery drain.

Instant Recenter with ⌥⌘C

No need to switch to settings. Face your display and hit the global shortcut to set your new baseline.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Blur detect head turns without a camera? +

Blur connects to Apple's CMHeadphoneMotionManager API. Compatible AirPods and Beats transmit 3D attitude orientation directly to macOS. Blur checks this angle against your calibrated forward baseline. The camera remains completely unpowered.

Why doesn't Blur need Screen Recording permission? +

Other apps take snapshots of your screen to apply a software blur, requiring full macOS Screen Recording permissions. Blur creates a native AppKit window overlay over your display instead. It never accesses, captures, or reads the contents of your screen.

Which headphone models are compatible? +

AirPods 3, AirPods 4, AirPods Pro (all generations), AirPods Max, Beats Studio Pro, Beats Fit Pro, and Beats Solo 4. Wearing one earbud is sufficient. Standard AirPods 1 and 2 do not have head-tracking sensors and are not supported.

What does Stealth Mode do in Blur Pro? +

In Blur Pro, looking away automatically hides your active application windows behind the shield and reveals a clean desktop upon look-back. Your open apps and documents remain intact. Pressing ⌥ + ⌘ + R restores all windows instantly.

Which macOS versions are supported? +

Blur requires macOS 14 Sonoma or macOS 15 Sequoia (both Apple Silicon M1–M4 and Intel Macs). Blur is a Mac-native application.

How do I receive my license after purchasing? +

Upon completing payment via Polar, your license key is displayed on the confirmation page and emailed to you immediately with the direct app download link.
